Kim Scola

Very soon after Tango found Kim, she fell in love with the music. Since then, she has dedicated herself to the art of DJing, studying with Hernán Prieto, Susana Miller, and Fernando Ulises “El Sobrino.” Kim is a regular host and DJ in Cleveland and a frequent guest DJ at events across the U.S. and Canada. Over the years, she has played at numerous festivals, marathons, and encuentros throughout North America. She strives to create a warm, uplifting vibe that celebrates the richness and diversity of Tango music. Her mission is simple: to craft inspiring, dependable sets that invite dancers to relax, connect, and dance every tanda at their very best.

Fernando Ulises

Fernando began his musical journey alongside his father at their family-run milonga, La Garua, which launched in Seattle in the early 1990s and continues to thrive today. In 2010, he and his partner Jenny Jiang opened a tango school in Shanghai, where he DJed at least twice a week for a decade. Since then, he has performed at countless house parties, local milongas, and international tango festivals, marathons, and encuentros across Asia, Europe, and North America. But it was his tenure as the weekly DJ at El Beso in Buenos Aires (2021–2022), immersed in the constant feedback of seasoned Milongueros, that refined his approach into the deeply traditional yet highly engaging style he is known for today.

​Andy Stein

Andy’s been DJing tango since 2012, at Encuentros and Marathons across the U.S. and Europe. He is crafting musical journeys—mixing classic Golden Age favorites with a few surprises.

He creates a pleasant energy flow on the dance floor by his music selection and sequencing.  He blends romantic, dramatic, rhythmic, lyrical, playful, and intense moods in order to keep it fresh and interesting on the dance floor.  He uses a monitor to show current and upcoming tandas, helping dancers pick the right partner.

During the pandemic, Andy started hosting weekly Zoom milongas called Tandas Around the World, giving dancers a chance to connect, chat, and enjoy great music from home. He also launched Milonga as a Service (MaaS)—a 24/7 online tango stream that’s totally free and open to everyone at tinyurl.com/andy-dj.

Jae Youn

As a DJ, Jae loves the challenge of keeping dancers on the floor to the very last tanda.  Her sensitivity to the energy of a milonga influences her music selection. Her music library is focused on the traditional masters and this is also reflected in her musical choices. She has been invited to DJ at festivals, milongas, marathons and encuentro milongueros across country, Europe, and Korea. 

Jae is the founder of Tango Utopia in the greater Raleigh/Durham area.  She is recognized as one of the premier teachers, dancers and DJ's as well as the organizer of the monthly Milonga Utopia and the weekly practicas.

Bill Raymond

​His goal as a Golden Age DJ is to be in the background choosing songs to suit the mood in the room . He plays the music to take the dancers away from their everyday lives and lure them out to dance again . He wants the dancers to be delighted to seize the moment and slip back onto the dance floor and into the ronda. From the moment that they hear the beginning of the tanda and zero in on their next partner, to the end when they have both lost count of the songs - he is planning where to take them next.
